As I have mentioned before, I have a real soft spot for the work of Niels Erik From, the Danish jeweller (1908—1982). He is considered one of the greats of Danish silver design, and his pieces are very collectable. I always try to have some of his jewellery for sale.
As my previous blog post about him was getting very cluttered, I have pulled out all the items that I have sold. I like to keep a record of his gorgeous pieces that have passed through my shop, and so I’m showing them here.

Good morning – I’m not sure whether I should say “thank you”, or “I wish I had never come across your site, because I was supposed to be having a busy morning and I just spent an hour and a half going through your wonderful blog and associated references!”
I came across your shop first, as part of a Google search trying to discover the person behind a silver jewelry hallmark “Y.O” on a large amber brooch which is described as Arts and Crafts style. Never did accomplish that, but I’ve had a wonderful time looking at your Etsy shop (now on my favorites list) and learning things from your blog posts- such as that the singular of graffiti is graffito (from your WWI posting) – which led me to an interesting article on graffiti in Wikipedia (which has some nice pictures of WWII graffiti), as well as reading your detailed and very interesting posts on various jewelers and their lives and work, and thoughts on language, human and animal eccentricities, archeology, science, and of course, different things that make us laugh!
So – thank you for making my morning much more entertaining than it would have been if I had forged ahead with my “list of Things I Have To Do Now!”
I live in Utah, a state not known for embracing all the finest parts of the English language, and it was a pleasure to read your postings.
Thanks for taking the time to share all your musings as well as for curating a very interesting selection of “vintage” (whatever that means these days – my kids alternate between thinking I am vintage and antique…), antique, and otherwise objects! I have refrained from shopping for the time being, but will be back, probably sooner than later.

Hi Catherine, and thanks for your lovely words – sorry to have been such a time sink for you, but glad you found some entertainment in amongst all the waffle. And ah, Utah – a desert state, my favourite type! When I was a kid and even more of a dreamer than I am today, I would lose hours in my family’s collection of old National Geographic magazines. I drew up a list of places in the US I was going to visit, and Arches National Park in Utah was near the top, just under Yosemite (which I pronounced YOZZ-eh-might, never having heard the word). And then there was Monument Valley, and Lake Powell, and Bonneville Salt Flats, and Zion National Park, and the Grand Canyon, and Petrified Forest National Park, and … the list went on, and on, full of wild, open places, most of them deserty (and deserted – I’ve always been an antisocial old scrote!). Sad to say they’re still on my list, but one day … You are very lucky to live in such an incredibly beautiful place.
